What happened to the school . . .
March 1999
The old boys' school was closed down several years ago, but being a grade 2 listed building, was unable to be demolished and remained in a state of disuse. It is now being converted into flats. Houses are being built on the school field and the estate bears the name "College Lawns".
West Leeds High School is now a mixed comprehensive located on the site of the former girls' school. New buildings were added to accommodate the increased school population.

I have been back to Leeds and have had the opportunity to take some more photos.
Where am I now? . . .
I now live in Wirral where I have been since 1981. I live with my wife Shirley and our younger daughter Rachel. Our other daughter Sarah lives locally. I worked as a software engineer in industry for 27 years until the end of 2005. I am now semi-retired, but continue to run my own IT business on a part time basis.
We don't have much cause to travel to Leeds these days. My mother continued to live in the family home right up until June 2008, just a few weeks before she passed away. My brother Roddy is in Pudsey in a supported living environment for people with learning disabilities and is successfully living a semi-independent life. Although we see plenty of him, he always comes to visit us.
