What happened to the school . . .<\/h2>\n

March 1999<\/h3>\n

The old boys' school was closed down several years ago, but being a grade 2 listed building, was unable to be demolished and remained in a state of disuse. It is now being converted into flats. Houses are being built on the school field and the estate bears the name \"College Lawns\".<\/p>\n

West Leeds High School is now a mixed comprehensive located on the site of the former girls' school. New buildings were added to accommodate the increased school population.<\/p>\n

Where am I now? . . .<\/h2>\n

I now live in Wirral where I have been since 1981. I live with my wife Shirley and our younger daughter Rachel. Our other daughter Sarah lives locally. I worked as a software engineer in industry for 27 years until the end of 2005. I am now semi-retired, but continue to run my own IT business on a part time basis.<\/p>\n

We don't have much cause to travel to Leeds these days. My mother continued to live in the family home right up until June 2008, just a few weeks before she passed away. My brother Roddy is in Pudsey in a supported living environment for people with learning disabilities and is successfully living a semi-independent life. Although we see plenty of him, he always comes to visit us.<\/p>\n
