As we all know, everyone has got:-

2 Parents
4 Grandparents
8 Great-grandparents
16 Great-great-grandparents
32 Great-great-great-grandparents
etc. . .

It does not take much imagination to realise that by continuing this process, you will soon end up with more ancestors than the population of England or even the world! There can be no two ways about it - the lines must converge at some point. But where do all lines finally converge? Popular thinking would have us believe that we are descended from apes via evolution, but is this altogether reasonable? You may not know this, but certain trends in human DNA fit very strongly with the idea that we are all descended from a common ancestor about 6000 years ago, which is totally consistent with the Biblical timeline of history.
